DNR announces expanded customer service hours at Waukesha center
MADISON -- The Department of Natural Resources is expanding over the counter service hours at its Waukesha center effective November 10. This is part of the DNR efforts to increase customer service hours statewide by over 6,000 hours. The Waukesha center will now offer counter service from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., five days per week.
"e;Excellent customer service is a top priority for DNR. Expanding the counter hours at service centers where we can makes it more convenient for our customers to obtain our services." said DNR Secretary Cathy Stepp. "We were able to increase the hours after moving vacancies to the Waukesha service center." The Department has a four pillar customer service strategy: partnering with local businesses; using the internet; offering a toll-free call-center; and face-to-face counter service. Hunting and fishing licenses are sold over-the-counter at more than 1,300 retail locations. Customers can purchase their licenses from the convenience of their home. A call center/hotline serves customers seven days a week, 15 hours per day. These enhancements were implemented to complement the face-to-face service offered at service center locations. "Staying in touch with customers is important to us. Between our customer service specialists who serve customers face-to-face or in the call center, internet sales and our local license vendors, we offer Waukesha area customers many ways to buy a license or get questions answered at convenient times and locations," said Diane Brookbank, Director of DNR's Customer & Outreach Services. Benefits of this change include:
Customers can talk to DNR customer service representatives by phone at 1-888-WDNRINFo (1-888-936-7463) seven days a week, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. - making DNR more accessible than any resource agency in the country. Live chats are available the same hours; a link is on the DNR website dnr.wi.gov. DNR customer service representatives are highly trained to interpret regulations, resolve license and registration problems, and are very knowledgeable about resources and recreational opportunities at the local level.
